It was nothing but success for Grayslake Central’s indoor track team this season. Athletes not only broke five school records, but they broke them all in just two meets.
On March 17 and March 30, 2026, the Rams dominated the track, breaking two records on both days. These are all of the athletes and their records.
Lauryn Francis – Girls 200m Record: 25.82 seconds
On, Mar. 17, 2026, Lauryn Francis didn’t just set a new record; doing so made her the record-holder for both the indoor and outdoor girls 200 meter dash. She broke the previous record of 26.1 seconds, becoming the fastest girls athlete in the 200-meter event across both indoor and outdoor track.

Ken-Ye Pendleton – Boys 60m and 200m Records: 6.86 and 22.45 seconds respectively
Junior Ken-Ye Pendleton accounts for three out of five records this season. On March 17, 2026, he set the school record for boys 60 meter at 6.88 seconds. On March 30, 2026, along with also setting the boys 200 meter record, he broke his own 60m record with a time of 6.86 seconds.

Ryan Schroer, Reid Donisch, Adan Cordova, Justin Mottola – Boys 4x800m Record: 8:03.34 (8 minutes, 3.34 seconds)
“The thing that makes you a better runner is consistency,” junior Justin Mottola said, and he doesn’t just mean that in terms of running conditions. In fact, he and his same teammates from the 2026 season broke the freshman and sophomore 4×800 meter records for both indoor and outdoor track last season. “I knew I could race well if I just stuck with the guys that I was with,” Mottola said.
