The Grayslake Central baseball team has shown why they are so feared in the NLCC, with a 25-6 record they are on track to have a good run into the postseason which starts on June 4, where the Rams will start off facing against the Harvard Hornets in a regional semi-final game.

Head varsity baseball coach Troy Whalen said, “We started out the year not even in the top 20.”, Now,Grayslake is ranked thirteenth in the state. The Rams have been a powerhouse this entire season fitting in an impressive 35 games in a span of 6 weeks. In the postseason rankings, they are ranked first in their sectional with their possible toughest competition being the Saint Viator Lions. With being the one seed in the sectional, the Rams will get the chance to host all of their postseason games up to the super-sectional game.

Biggest playmakers on the team that are slated to have a big postseason are Nate Mieszkowski currently batting a .468, Charlie Marisca who is batting a .419 and Mike Szyszka with a .407. These guys among others are going to be huge contributors to the success of the Rams as they have been throughout the season thus far.

Overall, the Rams have set the bar high and have put themselves in a position to make a far run into the playoffs, and hopefully, to have the opportunity to see their team up on the wall with a regional title.
