Do you love LEGOS? Let’s find the perfect LEGO set for this holiday season. Here are the top five LEGO set themes to consider.

1. Star Wars: When LEGO started out, it was normal LEGO sets, nothing fancy or spectacular. So LEGO decided to start themed sets, meaning a multitude of sets are based off of one item. The first thing they chose was in 1999, and it was Star Wars, which was an immediate hit. And still today is the most popular LEGO theme, spawning sets from all the movies like 1997 “The New Hope” or even the newest Star Wars show “The Mandalorian”. As Star Wars being the most popular and one of the first sets, it is highly recommended. If there is any character or scene from one of the movies you like the best, there are most likely sets of it. There is a LEGO battle of Hoth from “The Empire Strikes Back”, the Millennium Falcon and almost all the other spaceships and speeders, Anakin’s transformation from “The Revenge of the Sith”, even sets with Rey and Kylo Ren. It’s a theme with years of sets and is very versatile.

2. Marvel & DC: Every Marvel or DC movie that comes out curates at least one, if not more LEGO sets. There is a set out already from the new “Wonder Woman” movie, and the movie itself doesn’t come out until next summer. Every Iron Man suit that you can think of or have seen in the movies has been made into a LEGO set. In addition to Marvel sets, there are some great DC options as well. From Batman’s batcave to Wayne’s manor, these can be some more expensive options, so make sure to check prices before buying.

3. NINJAGO: A LEGO set that is less mainstream, but popular is NINJAGO. In early 2011, LEGO put a show out on Cartoon network for the sole purpose of creating a new theme, this theme was NINJAGO. The show is about five ninjas that are teenagers, going to school and fighting off bad guys. The sets were different only with a ninja or two and the bad guys. This LEGO theme has a lot of mechanical animals, dragons and big Mech’s that the ninja’s go into. NINJAGO also makes cars, ships and cityscapes. If you like ninjas, this is probably the LEGO theme for you!

4. Harry Potter: Now, a classic LEGO theme would be the Harry Potter sets. The beautiful thing about LEGO is that you don’t have to like or even see the movies because the set is themed after the movies so well to like just the LEGOS themselves. Hogwarts castle is the most popular out of the sets; it’s huge. Also, there was a LEGO Harry Potter game, a bunch of LEGO Star Wars games, LEGO Marvel games and a few DC games.  In all, Harry Potter is a classic series and has cool and interesting sets based off of the movies.

5. LEGO City: A favorite and a really popular theme is LEGO city. The LEGO city sets are probably my most purchased sets. LEGO city is anything you find when you go for a drive. There are cars, trucks, ambulances, cars with trailers, motorcycles, race cars, dumptrucks; this theme has it all. There was a set of a bunch of people in the park or at the carnival, in this set is a bunch of mini figures then a couple small builds to go along with them. This is a highly recommended series. LEGO city makes so many sets and so they are so versatile; therefore, there is bound to be something you would find in it that you would like.
