With World Principal Day on May 1, 2025, Rampage chose to spotlight the head of Grayslake Central High School, Principal Dan Landry! Mr. Landry has worked in
education for over 30 years, 11 of which he has spent as Grayslake Central’s principal. Landry said his favorite part about the job is “getting to see kids succeed. Trying to create opportunities for them to do what they want to do when they grow up, even if they don’t have any idea.” To be a principal, Mr. Landry has had to keep in mind that it’s not always possible to keep everyone happy, as well as that there’s always room for growth and improvement – keeping a growth mindset
is key. Outside of the workplace, Mr. Landry has recently found himself learning how to “transplant plants and bushes.” He enjoys watching sports as well, particularly football and baseball, and he cheers on the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs during their respective seasons. Mr. Landry also has three children, which helps occupy his time outside of work!
